Exotic Geisha Costumes

Geisha costumes for adults can be broken down into two types. There are the fairly authentic outfits designed for adult size and then there are the adult themed costumes that have a few references to Geisha costumes but are really just sexy outfits. Whereas the first costume might be ideal for a fancy dress party of Halloween event, the latter might be more appropriate for more intimate gatherings or for the special person in your life. Anyhow here are a few Geisha costume ideas to look at.

Authentic looking geisha costumes have a few components if they are to look convincing. You will need a Geisha hairstyle and make up. In terms of the garments worn, you will need a kimono and obi. You may even go so far as to get split toe socks and Geisha sandals. That’s pretty much a complete Geisha costume. However, real Geisha would probably have a unique design for their kimono and obi.

Two examples of adult themed Geisha costumes are below. As you can see they have borrowed a few ideas from the original outfits but they are more interested in creating a sexy look rather than the exotic look that a real Geisha costume might give.

The main aspects that they have borrowed is the Asian patterns on the kimono/dress. Both have a sash or obi to tie the dress together but both obis are quite understated and almost like a belt. Even so they are sure to make an impression where ever you choose to wear them.
